A letter from Pastor LaFeve . . .

Dear Parishioners of Immanuel:

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! Easter greetings to all of you during this unusual time. May you continue to find comfort in the Gospel promises of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). And His perfect love drives out all fear (1 John 4:18).

First and foremost, I am writing to encourage you all to remain steadfast in prayer and the reading of God's Word. I encourage you all to make use of Portals of Prayer devotionals, the "Lord's Mercy Endures Forever" daily devotions, as well as the other devotional resources found on the homepage of our congregation's website - immanuelleland.com.

On the home page of Immanuel's website, you will also find a video of our most recently recorded Worship Service and a link to archived Worship Services on Immanuel's YouTube channel at youtube.com. Those weekly Worship Services are also being shared on Immanuel's Facebook page (Immanuel Lutheran Church, Leland, MI) along with occasional prayers, Scripture passages, and devotional videos. The congregation's website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel are great places to visit in order to stay involved in the life of Immanuel.

In addition to these three mediums, you should be receiving a weekly "News & Notes" email from the congregation giving updates and other important information. If you are not receiving this email, please contact the church office (231-256-9464 or immanuelleland@gmail.com) to give us your email address. I also encourage you all to contact me via email and/or the church office phone for pastoral care issues and to receive private communion.

The elders and I are currently discussing a plan for resuming Sunday Worship together in the sanctuary sometime in May, after the recent "shelter in place" order has been lifted. We will update the congregation regarding that plan once we have the details.

Please know that any plan for resuming Worship and other congregational activities will consider best practices and suggested guidelines in order to ensure the safety and health of the whole congregation.

Finally, take consolation in the certain truth that your Lord Jesus has already won the victory and that victory is yours by grace through faith in Him! God is continuing to work all things together according to His good purpose in Christ (Romans 8:28).

A blessed Eastertide to you all!

In Christ,

Pastor LaFeve
